Spotlight Development Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Baugh, MBA, as Vice President of Investments.
Since joining the company in September 2024, Richard has played a pivotal role in shaping Spotlight’s investment strategy, underwriting, and financial analysis of its development projects.

With extensive experience in real estate private equity, development finance, and consulting, Richard has been instrumental in raising, deploying, and advising on over $2 billion in transactions across North America. His background includes working with PwC’s Real Estate Advisory practice and serving on the advisory board of Habitat for Humanity GTA, demonstrating his commitment to impact-driven, community-focused development.
In his role at Spotlight, Richard collaborates closely with Chief Investment Officer Andrew Garrett and the senior leadership team to drive investment strategies that align with the company’s mission of inclusive, people-first real estate development. His expertise ensures that Spotlight’s projects create long-term value for stakeholders while fostering sustainable, community-driven growth.
Richard holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, a Specialized Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from York University, and a Diploma in Real Property Appraisal and Assessment from The University of British Columbia.
